The aim of the Guidance & Counseling Office is to assist students in passing the university entrance examinations in their first attempt. The preparations begin in the first year of junior high school. It is based on a wealth of experience and accumulated data. We offer student support ranging from individual counseling, complete test data analysis, skills development for effective learning, and advance to a department suitable for the student based on their test results and preferences.

In order for a student to pass the entrance examination of their chosen university on their first attempt, teachers, parents, and students need to work together as early as the student’s first year at school working towards a common goal. The school conducts three separate meetings per semester for the teacher, parent, and student to gather to discuss as a group.
Counselors talk with students utilizing easy-to-understand computer generated analysis materials. Together, they identify ways to overcome the students’ weak points. Consultations with the teachers and subject heads are kept confidential. Additional support study classes are arranged before and after regular school hours upon notification and approval from parent or guradian.
This school has had students pass the entrance examinations of almost every university in Japan and thus has accumulated a wealth of information on these schools. When the time comes, students are able to discuss all aspects of university entrance in-depth with their class teacher.
We are currently working on a system whereby the school and parents can exchange information via the Internet.
The school’s educational policy does not promote nose-to-the-grindstone form of study, but rather a policy of training the mind & body in polishing the student into a well-rounded person.
Knowing one’s suitability and providing suitable guidance counseling, students choose the university that they would like to enter, rather than the university they think they can enter. According the division of T-scores, this method makes it more difficult for students to have regrets after entering university. At this school, all students undergo a suitability test in April of their first year of enrollment. Through this test students suitability for certain faculties, course, and career choice can be assessed. Based on the students’ career hopes, students, teachers, and parents get together three times a year to decide the students’ career path by their third year taking into consideration the students interests, character, ability, and financial situation. The suitability test plays a very important role as a source of reference for students trying to decide what it is they want to do.
