On October 29th, under clear autumn skies, IB students participated in volunteer activities at the “47th Industrial Festival” held at Onoyama Comprehensive Athletic Park.

This volunteer work was carried out in cooperation with the “Okinawa Children’s Future Citizens’ Conference,” and alongside the staff, we distributed pamphlets and conducted a fundraising activity at the venue. Results of the survey the Okinawa government announced in January 2016 showed that 29.9% of Okinawan children are in relative deprivation (https://www.okinawa-child-future.jp/english/). A total of 295,330 yen was collected in donations from the participating companies and visitors to the Industrial Festival. This donation will be used to address child poverty in Okinawa.
